In terms of Irish-pub street cred, it's hard to top selling more Jameson Irish Whiskey than any other bar in the world (including those on the Isle itself). But that's not the only impressive thing the Local does—it also employs a large and friendly staff who are knowledgeable enough not to look puzzled when you order a Johnny Jump-Up. The kitchen provides one of the tastiest collections of bar food in the Cities with a menu that changes seasonally. Among our favorites are the baked artichoke dip ($9.99) and fries with dipping sauce ($7.99). The dark-stained hardwood interior is cavernous and inviting, and with plenty of intriguing nooks (including a genuine make-out room) to nestle in with your friends, there's hardly a reason to leave.
